Randy Waldrum’s team needed a draw to be sure of the next round passage and to make history by avoiding defeat in three consecutive World Cup matches for the first time.
The Super Falcons were hoping to replicate their performance after they stunned the Matildas last thursday, but a draw was sufficient to seal the deal.
In the other fixtures, 2020 Olympic Champions, Canada were stunned by co-hosts Australia with a 4-0 thumping to pick up the second ticket to the round of 16.
