A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has left the ruling All Progressives Congress and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Dogara was received into the party on Monday during the presidential campaign rally in Lagos State.
He had expressed displeasure with the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the APC and vowed to work against the party’s Candidate, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
He subsequently endorsed the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Dogara was elected speaker on the APC platform in 2015 but left alongside then President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki in 2018 to the PDP.
In 2020, Dogara returned to the APC citing a breakdown of governance in his native state of Bauchi under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed whom he said he helped install as a governor in 2019.
He has now returned to the PDP.
