The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has predicted that Nigeria will experience flood in most parts of the country this year.
The Director-General of NEMA, Mustapha Ahmed stated this in Abuja at a seminar organised for NEMA stakeholders.
Ahmed noted that while the level of the flood and locations to be affected is yet to be ascertained, early preparation would go a long way to mitigate its impact.
According to the NEMA Boss, no less than 662 persons have died, 3,174 others injured and over 2 million displaced as a result of floods.
Hence, the need to commence early preparations against its impact.
