Officials of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have seized expired and illicit pharmaceutical drugs worth N1.4 billion in the South-West region of the country in March.
Speaking in Ikeja, Lagos, Acting Controller of the Unit, Hussein Ejibunu said that the Unit also intercepted 11 trailer loads of imported ride in the period under review.
Some of the other items seized include; 35,325 liters of premium motor spirit, 279 Cartons of foreign poultry products, 105 parcels of cannabis sativa, two- 40 feet containers of 883 bales of used clothes and 8 units of foreign used vehicles.
Aside the five suspects arrested in connection with the goods, Ejibunu put the duty paid value of the seized items at N694.46million naira.
