The president of the Nigerian association of resident doctors, Emeka Orji, says the national assembly has invited the association for a meeting on tomorrow.
In a televised interview today, Orji insisted that alleged negotiations initiated by the federal government is not true, stating that the doctors will remain resolute until an absolute solution is provided to the perennial strikes.
Meanwhile, Orji laughed at reports of government’s alleged threats to employ ad-hoc staff in place of doctors, calling it a misplaced priority and a deviation from the real matter at hand.
Residents’ doctors are demanding an immediate increment in the consolidated medical salary structure to the tune of 200 per cent of the current gross salaries of doctors, among other demands.
