The house of representatives has appealed president Bola Tinubu to increase the budgetary allocation to the national drug law enforcement agency (NDLEA).
This followed a motion of urgent national importance by a member of the house, Francis Agbo, who expressed worry over the equipment and weapons available to the NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse.
According to Agbo, the president should declare a state of emergency on drug abuse in the country, to aid the directly fund the agency.
Meanwhile, the ninth house of representatives will hold its valedictory session on Tuesday June 6, 2023.
