Nigerian army says no fewer than 51 terrorists were killed by troops while 93 suspected criminals were arrested in the North-East and North-West regions of the country between May 18 and June 1, 2023.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, disclosed this during the bi-weekly briefing on military operations across the country in the last two weeks.
Danmadami said the terrorists were killed during offensive operations to their enclaves in the two regions, adding that 22 terrorists’ logistics suppliers were also arrested.
According to him, a total of 876 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West African Province members and their family members surrendered to the troops in Borno during the period under review.
He noted that all recovered items, arrested suspected criminals, and rescued kidnapped civilians had been handed over to the appropriate authority for further action, while the surrendered Boko Haram Terrorist/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists and members of their families were being profiled.
