US Secretary of state, Anthony blinkin has met President Xi Jinping in a meeting described as timely and essential.
According to President Xi Jinping, he hopes the meeting will address the undue tension between both nations and boost partnership in key areas to tackle world issues.
Earlier, China’s foreign minister, Wang Yi in his conversation with Blinken said the root cause of the misunderstanding in China-US relations is misconception while insisting there is no room to compromise on Taiwan.
china bureau chief Jonathan Chen, stated that the meeting can only be productive if both sides are willing to shift grounds on concede on major points of disagreement.
Blinken is the highest-ranking US official to meet with Xi since 2018.
