President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate seeking the confirmation of service chiefs.
President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, who read the letter at the resumption of the plenary today, said the service chiefs would be screened by the entire Senate in its chamber at a yet-to-be-announced date.
Recall that the Speaker of the house of representatives, Tajudeen Abass, read the President’s letter at plenary on Thursday, after President Tinubu had forwarded the letter to the green chamber.
The President announced an overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture and the appointment of new service chiefs on June 19.
