A Federal High Court, Abuja, has adjourned suit involving lawmaker Alhassan Doguwa until September 25 to allow Kano State government study the outcome of the police report on allegation of murder against him.

Justice Donatus Okorowo adjourned the matter following an oral application by counsel to the governor and the state’s Attorney-General, M. K. Umar, to allow him study the police report annexed to the affidavit filed by Doguwa in response to their objection.

Umar in his defense insisted the lawmaker was not dragged into the case for the violence that erupted during the Februrary 25 elections in Kano or on the firearm issue, but Doguwa needs to answer questions on allegations of homicide preferred against him by the state government.

Justice Okorowo, who adjourned the case, extended the earlier interim order directing parties to maintain status quo pending the hearing and determination of the main matter.

Recall Doguwa, had sued the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Inspector General of police, the executive governor of Kano State and the attorney general, seeking an order enforcing his fundamental rights
