Benue state chapter of the medical association of Nigeria, NMA has confirmed the release of doctor Asema Msuega, 33 days after he was abducted by armed men in Ukum Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.
State Chairman of NMA, Ushakuma Anenga in a statement said the doctor was released yesterday night, hours after the association announced an indefinite strike, to demand his immediate release, calling on the state government to come to their aid.
Police Public Relations Officer, in the state SP, Catherine Anene who confirmed the development withheld details of his release.
Recall Msuega was on July 23, 2023 kidnapped by armed men while on Malaria Supervision Mission in Ukum LGA, with his abductors demanding ransom to have him released.
