Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma has faulted previous government at the state and federal level for inadequate implementation of the thirteen percent derivation constitutionally allotted to oil producing states in Nigeria.
Uzodinma said this today at the commission of general hospital in Oguta local government, stating that residents of oil producing communities should not be abandoned and maltreated, considering the level of oil related activities that have crippled daily living in such areas.
According to him, the inhumane situation in the affected areas, forced the youths to turn to criminal activities, faulting the leaders for failing to demand and fight for the lawful rights of their subjects.
He also stated that his government has worked out modalities to ensure that the suffering of the people becomes a tale, promising to sustain the empowerment of the youth and ensure the resources of the state is equally distributed.
Uzosdinma however charged stakeholders to wake up to their responsibilities by collaborating with the government in protecting infrastructure and ensuring adequate implementation of government policies.
