Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday to attend the United Nations General Assembly scheduled for Sept. 18 to 26 in New York.
Recall that the President’s spokesman Ajuri Ngelale in a statement said Tinubu had accepted the invitation, which was delivered by U.S. presidential envoy and assistant secretary of state for African affairs Molly Phee
The President is expected to meet U.S. President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the Assembly, with the two leaders likely to discuss the situation in Niger, economic collaboration among other things.
Tinubu, has called for more U.S. investment in Nigeria and greater cooperation for the defence of democracy in West Africa, amid rising coup incidents in the region.
