The president of trade union congress of Nigeria, Festus Osifo says the federal government needs to review some of its policies, especially floating of the naira and the removal of petrol subsidy which he said has unleashed terror on Nigerians.
According to Osifo, Nigeria must consider its peculiarities as an independent entity before making heavy consequential decisions that can ground the economy.
On his part, the group managing director of the Nigeria national petroleum company limited, Mele Kyari expressed contrary views, stating that removal of petrol subsidy was the first step to unlocking freedom in the down stream sector of the oil and gas industry.
According to him, subsidy removal is supposed to be a gateway, expressing confidence that the federal government will consolidate on the achievements made so far.
