The Abia State Government has called on the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate a group that accused Governor Alex Otti of sponsoring the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, said the group made up of strange fellows in a viral video had called on the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia to deliver its judgement billed for Friday, October 6, via zoom.

Ekeoma said the group alleged that the state government had concluded plans to intimidate the judges of the tribunal to deliver judgment in favour of Otti, claiming that the judges would be killed if they failed to favour the governor.

According to him, such statements are misleading and malicious, noting that the police must bring the perpetrators to book, to serve as deterrent to mischief makers.
