Abia state Governor Alex Otti, has read the riot act to criminals terrorizing residents, during the launch of Operation Crush, a special security operation against the rising tide of violent crime, in the state.
According to Oti, security of lives and property is the primary responsibility of Government, hence, his administration will no longer watch criminal elements and their collaborators make life unbearable for residents of the state.
He stated that the goal of the special operation is to use the superiority of the armed force to clear and flush out criminals from their hideouts in any part of the state.
Speaking on-behalf of Heads of security agencies in the state, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, commended Otti for giving priority to security matters, and promised on behalf of security agencies to complement the Governor’s efforts.
