The Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has directed Zonal Assistant Inspector Generals of Police and Commissioners of Police to deploy personnel and equipment to ensure adequate security throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement by the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, Egbetokun ordered patrols on major highways, flash points, worship and relaxation centres, among others, to have a hitch-free celebration.
Earlier, the acting police chief, in a meeting with the mobile police squadron and commanders at the force headquarters, insisted that operatives of the force must be disciplined and committed to duty.
Egbetokun added that police officers must respect the force identity and properly employ social media to transmit important information as stipulated by code of the force.IGP
