The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has named Chairmen for Special Committees in the 10th Senate in line with the Standing Orders 2022 as Amended.
Akpabio named members into the Selection Committee which he chairs, with the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau as the Vice chairman and other principal officers of both the majority and minority as members.
Members of the Selection Committee are Opeyemi Bamidele, Ekiti Central, the Senate Majority leader; Ali Ndume, Borno, the Senate Chief Whip: Dave Umahi, Ebonyi South, the Deputy Leader and Lola Ashiru, Kwara South, the Deputy Whip.
Other members are Simon Davou Mwadkwon, Plateau North, the Senate -Minority Leader; Darlington Nwokocha, Abia Central, the Minority Whip; Oyewumi Kamorudeen Olarere, Osun West, the Deputy Minority Leader and Rufai Hanga, Kano Central, the Deputy Minority Whip.
The Senate President named Tutus Zam, as the Chairman, Rules and Business; Sunday Karimi, as Chairman senate Services; Okechukwu Ezea chairman Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions and Aliyu Ahmed Wadada as chairman Public Accounts Committee, among others.
