President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday met Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, at the State House, Abuja.
This is Emefiele’s second meeting with the President since he returned to the country on January 12, 2023.
The apex bank Governor was part of a delegation of the Arab Bank for Economic Development led by its Director General, Sidi Ould Tah.
Emefiele has been enmeshed in several controversies over alleged corruption and involvement in terrorism financing, leading to series of attempts by security officials to arrest him.
Weeks earlier, the Department of State Service (DSS) had sought a court order to arrest him, but the request was rejected by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on the ground that the Service failed to provide sufficient evidence to warrant issuing the arrest warrant.
