NWC has confirmed the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as National Chairman and National Secretary.
Deputy National Chairman (North) Abubakar Kyari is now the Acting National Chairman of the APC.
Briefing reporters after the NWC meeting, Kyari formally announced the resignation of Adamu and Omisore.
Kyari added that in line with the constitution of the party, the Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, will serve as the acting National Secretary of the APC.
It was earlier reported that there was a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) presided over by the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Abubakar Kyari.
The APC National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore who was said to have resigned too was reportedly shut out of the meeting and left the party secretariat without speaking with the media while the meeting was ongoing.
The new leadership has postponed the earlier National Executive Committee meeting scheduled to hold on the 18th and 19th of July.
