Those who suffered losses during the ENDSARS protests in 2020 may keep their hopes of compensation alive as the Senate has passed for second reading, a bill seeking to compensate victims of the EndSARS protest.
According to the Sponsor of the bill, Gershom Bassey, the bill sought to provide for the establishment of the EndSARS Victims Compensation Fund which would ensure that those who suffered physical injuries and property loss would get succour.
He lamented that since the incident two years ago, victims have been left to continually groan under the pains of injury inflicted by hoodlums during the EndSARS protest.
President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan thereafter referred the bill to the Committee on Special Duties for further legislative input and report back to plenary in one week.
