The department of state services says it has uncovered plans by some disgruntled individuals to disrupt activities lined up for a peaceful transition ceremony on May 29.

But the agency has warned that it would not allow such unpatriotic Nigerians to scuttle the handover ceremony in any part of the country.

Spokesperson of the agency, peter Afunaya, said the motive of those planning such acts was to undermine security agencies’ efforts at ensuring peaceful ceremonies as well as creating panic and fear among members of the public.

He therefore, implored Nigerians to remain calm and law-abiding as the security agency in collaboration with sister agencies are on top of the situation.

He further advised the public to shun fake news that could cause violence in the country, as he urged  unaccredited persons to stay away from the inauguration venues.
