The Federal Government has said it is planning to decentralize the fire service emergency response system to improve the response time to emergencies in the country.
The Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, who has been inspecting the facilities of various paramilitary organisations under his watch said the Federal Government was planning to have firefighting trucks stationed at every economic zone in the country.
According to him, the plan when executed would help reduce billions of naira lost to fire disasters in the country, promising that the personnel of the Fire Federal Service would be adequately trained on how to handle modern equipment
Tunji-Ojo said the government is alive to its responsibility of protecting lives and properties and will employ all necessary method in line with global best practice.
