The former Chairman of Ijebu-East Local Government, Wale Adedayo, has regained freedom, having spent 48 hours at the Ibara Correctional Centre in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Recalls that Adedayo was arraigned on Tuesday by the police over a petition submitted by the Ogun State Government, where he was accused of propagating falsehood against Governor Dapo Abiodun on matters of financial appropriation.

On Tuesday, Adedayo appeared before Magistrate Adejoke Araba of Magistrate’s Court 2, Isabo, Abeokuta, on a two-count charge, bothering on false accusation and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, which he pleaded not guilty.

He was thereafter granted bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum but was in custody, due to the delay in perfecting his bail conditions.

He could not be released on Wednesday because of the public holiday but was took to social media to announce his release today, insisting that he would continue to tell the truth, damming the consequences.
