The new governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has vowed to investigate the N241 billion debt incurred by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration.
In his speech at his swearing-in ceremony, Yusuf expressed his dissatisfaction with the handover notes provided by Ganduje, stating that he is disheartened at the lack of details within the documents received.
He reassured the people of the state that he remains committed to the progress of the state and will reposition it as an economic force to reckon with in Nigeria.
Earlier, there was mild drama at the inauguration ceremony when the podium collapsed just after he took Kabir yusuf took oath of office.
Kabir, his deputy and the acting chief judge were all on the podium when the incident happened at the with reports stating that some youths had climbed the rooftop of the podium which led to its collapse.
