The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has welcomed the pronouncement of President Bola Tinubu on the removal of fuel subsidy.
The group chief executive officer of NNPCL, Mele Kyari says the company has been spending a substantial amount of its profits in the subsidy of the product, stating that there was no need for panic buying as fuel queues had been noticed in some areas of the FCT.
Meanwhile, Chairman independent marketers’ Association of Nigeria, PMAN sattelite depot South-West, Akin Akinrinde while speaking to Adamimogo fm today stated that fuel stations odding the product will be sanctioned.
Akinrinde submitted that the subsidy removal was long overdue and was an unnecessary burden on the Nations economy.
