Nigerians have appealed to the federal government to take back power generation and distribution sector in order to address the incessant collapse of the power grid.
The Plea was aired on Ajoro a current affairs program on Adamimogo FM, with residents decrying the devastating effect of the recent collapse of the grid yesterday, describing it as unwholesome.
According to a cross section of callers on the program, management and generation under the private sector is outrageous, with unstable power supply, estimated bills among many other dissatisfying factors listed as reasons for their plea.
The callers also opined that the sector will thrive better under the federal government, with funds and made available to maintain and expand the sector.
Recall, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu explained that an explosion at the Kainji/Jebba station was the cause of the nationwide blackout, promising that power will be fully restored in no time.
