The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has reiterated that the defection of some of its members to the ruling All Progressives Congress does not mean it has gone into extinction.

In a statement by the spokesman of the party, Kennedy Peretei, he argued that the party was unruffled by a few persons who, he said, were in a self-destruct misadventure.

According to him, the 203 former councillors and some vice chairmen including the chairman of the Elders Forum that recently defected from the party have been inactive for many years.

The PDP was reacting to comments by the state chairman of the Ondo APC, Ade Adetimehin that the Ondo PDP has gone into extinction.
