President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) at the Council Chamber.
Senator George Akume in the brief ceremony today took his Oath of Office in the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan; among prominent personalities present.
The ceremony comes about five days after the president announced the appointment of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff,
While Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.
Recall that the president had promised in his inaugural speech to hit the ground running and appoint essential members of his cabinet without delay.
