President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to fight for sustained independence by upholding the tenets and structures established by fallen heroes for the advancement of democracy in Nigeria.
The president said this in a tweet to commemorate 25 years after the demise of then premiere of western Nigeria and acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 election
According to President Tinubu, Today, the nation honors the sacrifice and example of a true hero, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, 25 years after his sad demise.
He described Abiola as A true champion of democracy, whose courage and integrity, complete dedication to public service, exemplified the highest ideals of a great nation.
The president also promised that the legacy of Abiola will endure and his message of hope will be renewed in the nation.
