Six persons have been confirmed dead and 26 other injured after a moving train rammed into a brt bus at the pwd bus stop in the ikeja area of the state this morning.
The permanent secretary of the lagos state traffic management authority (lastma) olufemi oke-osanyintolu who confirmed the incident said the bus involved in the crash belongs to the state government.
Osanyintolu appealed to residents to allow the agency carry out rescue operations without interference or complications.
Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has visited the Lagos state teaching hospital (LASUTH) to sympathise with the victims while appealing to residents to be safety conscious at all times.
The spokesman for the national emergency management agency in lagos, ibrahim farinloye said the bus was trying to cross the pwd/sogunle rail crossing while the train coming into lagos from abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.
