The supreme court has declared Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the governorship election in Osun state.
In a judgement by justice Emmanuel Agim, former governor Gboyega Oyetola and the APC failed to prove it case of improper accreditation against the PDP and Adeleke, thereby affirming the verdict of the appeal court that declared Adeleke as the winner of the poll
Earlier Oyetola and his party, the all-progressives congress (APC) had been declared winner by the state election petitions tribunal following allegations of irregularities in the polls that produced Adeleke as governor.
In another ruling, the appeal court had, in its judgement, set aside the judgment by the election tribunal, which held in favour of Oyetola and pronounced Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the election.
