Three farmers were reportedly slain by militants in different areas within Kaduna State’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area.
According to Ishaq Kasai, Chairman of the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union, the terrorists kidnapped 22 persons and stole motorcycles during the attack that took place on Saturday.
He claimed that during the attacks, the terrorists also pillaged local businesses.
In Birnin-Gwari LGA of Kaduna State, Kasai stated, “Terrorists continue to assault civilians, mainly farmers in several communities.
The terrorists attacked Hayin Gada of Damari Community in Kazage Ward on September 24, 2022, at at 7:30 p.m. They killed two residents there—Sanusi Zubairu and Kabiru Zubairu—and abducted 12 others. During the incident, they also ransacked stores in the same neighborhood.
The same Saturday, another group of terrorists attacked a FARM CENTRE near Birnin-Gwari/Kaduna Road, where they abducted six people and murdered one. They also took three motorcycles (Bajaj models) from farmers in the Kamfanin Doka area and abducted four more people in Dajin JANGALI.
“BEPU follows the terrorists’ continued invasion of several areas and unchecked looting of shops with grave worry.
The union will never stop urging the appropriate authorities to step up efforts to combat terrorist activity in the Birnin-Gwari LGA, particularly during this early crop harvesting period.
